For more than 25 years, Totalspan has been designing and building customised steel buildings for New Zealanders. That covers everything from backyard garages and lifestyle sheds to farm and commercial buildings.
We don't do one-size-fits-all. Every building starts with your site, how you're going to use your building and the way you work. From there, we can look after the whole job: design and engineering, manufacturing and construction.
So whatever your lifestyle, land or livelihood, you end up with a building as unique as you.
Engineered in house
Every Totalspan building is designed for its site, not picked off a shelf. Our in-house engineering team makes sure each one meets New Zealand's building standards, seismic and environmental requirements, and local council rules. Our clear-span design means no internal support columns. You get open, usable space to set up however you like.
Made in our Christchurch factory
We don't rely on outside suppliers to make our frames. New Zealand steel is roll-formed in our own Christchurch factory, then fabricated for your build. That gives us tight control over quality and timing, from the first frame to the final flashing. And, because we know the quality of our materials, our systems, and the high standards that our teams work to, we back our buildings with a 25-year structural guarantee.
New Zealand steel, built for your local conditions
At the core of every building is a GALVSTEEL® portal frame, finished with COLORSTEEL® cladding from New Zealand Steel. It's made to handle everything from inland frosts to harsh coastal air. Steel is strong, low-maintenance, non-combustible and 100% recyclable, so your building keeps earning its place for years.
